Privacy Policy

The Story House Club respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, and the choices available to you when you visit our website, create an account, join our newsletter, or place an order.
Information we collect
We may collect your name, email address, phone number, shipping address, account details, newsletter preference, order details, recipient name, and gift message when you provide them. We also keep order references and fulfillment status so we can process and locate orders.
Payment card and bank information are entered on Chase Bank’s secure website. The Story House Club does not collect or store your full card or bank account information.
Basic website statistics
We collect limited first-party statistics to understand how the website is used. This includes a random session code, the page visited, the type of event (such as a page view or completed order form), and the date and time. We also record anonymous Book Bag contents, quantities, estimated value, and whether a shopper reached checkout so we can understand which products are left behind. These shopping records are not connected to a customer name, email address, phone number, or shipping address. We do not intentionally store your IP address or device details in our statistics tables. Statistics are kept for up to 90 days.
Public survey responses
Our optional public survey does not require a purchase, account, name, or email address. We store the answers you choose to submit, including next-book votes, website and book ratings, visit interests, and optional comments. We use these responses to improve our books, games, products, and website.
How we use information
- To receive, confirm, fulfill, and support orders.
- To create and maintain customer accounts and saved shipping information.
- To send requested sign-in links, order messages, and customer support replies.
- To send news and promotions only when you choose to subscribe.
- To understand website performance and improve shopping and checkout.
- To prevent misuse and comply with applicable legal obligations.
Service providers
We use service providers that process information only as needed to provide their services. These may include Supabase for customer accounts and saved profiles, Resend for email delivery, Chase Bank for invoices and payment processing, Amazon for printing or shipping, and our website hosting and infrastructure providers.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
How long we keep information
We keep order information as reasonably needed for fulfillment, customer service, business records, and legal obligations. Account information is kept while the account remains active or until deletion is requested, subject to records we must retain. Newsletter information is kept until you unsubscribe. Basic statistics are kept for up to 90 days.
Children’s privacy
Our books are created for children, but website accounts, newsletter sign-ups, and purchases are intended for parents, guardians, and other adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can review and delete it when appropriate.
Your choices
You may unsubscribe from promotional emails using the unsubscribe option in an email. You may also ask to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with your account, subject to information we must keep for legitimate business or legal reasons.
Security and changes
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect personal information. No internet service can guarantee complete security. We may update this policy as our services change and will post the revised date on this page.
